Abstract

Funded by the Queensland Office of Gaming Regulation, this project conducted a quantitative survey of Indigenous gambling, problem gambling, its demographic, behavioural, perceptual and attitudinal correlates, and help-seeking behaviour in the Yarrabah Community in North Queensland. A household survey gained responses from 72% of all adults in the community, and was supported by an art competition in the local schools, a Yarrabah Gambling Awareness Week, and follow-up gambling health promotion activities.
