This thesis focuses on the reconstruction of obsidian economies in Middle Neolithic settlements from Corsica (Western Mediterranean). While following a long tradition of obsidian sourcing studies, the present research integrates the latest trends in the discipline, mainly by adopting analytical strategies tailored to each archaeological assemblage to allow their exhaustive and non-destructive analysis. The outcomes of this research provide new insights into local obsidian consumption patterns that will help deepen our understanding of the Neolithic communities of the Western Mediterranean area.
