Abstract

This project comprises an exegesis and a creative work. Using a combination of autoethnography and feminist theory, the project seeks to demonstrate that labelling occupations as ‘male’ and ‘female’ is unnecessary and that certain stereotypes hinder the achievement of gender equality. The terms ‘feminist’ and ‘feminism’ are presented as positive terms, in response to those who denigrate them.

Please note: The PhD exegesis only is available in ePublications. The core creative work is under embargo until October 2019.
